50 Shades of Sexy Round Up!!

Talk about out of breath and out of mind! You fashion bloggers out there have your work cut out for you, I admire your tenacity to stick to it! While I yet toss around the notion that this is anything but a fashion blog, I must conclude, that it is slowly morphing into a bit of everything I enjoy on Second Life, be it fashion, great content creation, events, causes, classes, horses and oh yes, the Second Life experience itself.
I often tell my friends irl that immersing 'socialization' in a virtual environment can oft be a two edged sword. Tip to the extreme on either side and we can 'rent' our own well being into shreds. So kids, balance is the word of the day, eh? Now how about, lingerie? Better word me thinks!

Tonight is the night ladies and gentlefolk, for the official 50 Shades of Sexy event at the Library. You can read more about it here to get the full picture and .. pictures! Thank you to Shiloh Selene and to the Library as well for putting this event together! Can't wait to see who's there, who's wearing whom, and who's wearing on whom neither :-)  After all, how can a sane man (or woman) not enjoy an event where Lingerie is the topic of the evening?

Do click on the hyperlinks and grab the information!

Week 4- Pour Some Sugar On Me

If you look closely you'll see a bit of PS magic from the original Def Leppard image. The pose isn't great, but I have a subliminal message of my own :P

Week 5- Bad Romance

Week five's prompt reminded me of my ventures into the BDSM community on the grid, not so long ago. Long story short and summed up into a nice, tidy sentence, however! "You can always ask for forgiveness later!". All teasing aside, I have my experiences and misadventures from time to time on the grid, as much do we all, but 'Bad Romances', both RL and virtual, should teach us some basic lessons in life:

1. Good lingerie you can keep forever
2. Learn from our mistakes
3. Wash, rinse and repeat does not apply
4. A quality riding crop cures all ills.

Continuing to showcase Lumi's taste lingerie is a genuine treat. This outfit is called Temptation and I remember when it first came out, she helped me personally with the prim piece for the skirt. (insert newb fashion blabbering here, so sorry :/) P
Prim skirts and I have never gotten along and Lumi was very patient until we got it fit just right. Again, her textures are unique and even without the garter layer, I've worn this as a mini dress to many occasions (sans the horse whip). Do visit taste's main location to take a peek at the rest of her creations!

50 Shades of Sexy- Week 3 Sexual Healing

And photo editing practice continues. You know, I feel like my images are beginning to look like ads rather than actual art :/ I just want to showcase the lingerie above anything else I guess. Have been trying to add quirky subliminal things to posh up the picture. I think the imaginary people in my head are 'getting it'. But woe to you readers, this girl is still learning the mojo of SL Fashion blogging.
This third and probably my most favorite piece of Luminescent Jewell's lingerie line, is called Seduction Fishnet Stocking in White. It is her most popular item and is available in red, pink and black. It also comes in several different layers including, gloves, socks, revealing and pants, thong and top. I appreciate the work she put into the seaming as well. Be sure to grab the limo to 'taste' the rest of her designs!

50 Shades of Sexy Week 2 - Better Than Chocolate

What's better than chocolate? The Cupcake Plant! A gift that keeps on giving. This blogger challenge is just that, challenging. I've had to cull out the ole SL virtual barbie closet, and really look at what I have that doesn't scream, IMPULSE purchase. Doesn't this set remind you of raspberries? Chocolate with berries..heh, pretty ingenious chocolateers.
The next few posts I'll be showcasing taste lingerie from Owner/Designer, Luminescent Jewell. I met Lumi while working at Club Velvet Manor and have always been a fan of her designs. The nice thing about her pieces is that she doesn't overboard on the level of detail, and yet keeps the allure and interest there. You'll see what I mean during the next few weeks lol.

Happy Cross Your Heart Hope You get Lucky on Valentines- DAY!

One Billion Rising in Second Life

Thanks to the collective efforts of residents on Second Life, One Billion Rising will commence tomorrow, February 14th. Here is a brief description from the OBR blog:

"ONE BILLION RISING began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS. On February 14, 2013, men and women in Second Life will join activists, writers, thinkers, celebrities, and people across the world to Walk, Dance, and Rise as a show of unity, individual strength, and the need for change."
1 in 3 women is one too many don't you think? The folks at OBR SL are not asking for donations out right. Just a time to come together, in mutual support and to raise awareness.
Every one of us has a story to tell, scars to bare, and words of encouragement to share, why not take the time to put aside the cynicism for one day, and open your heart and mind...(you can keep the wallets and purses at home today kids if you like)

Take any of the Limos and bring a friend! Many thanks to Ms. Strawberry Singh for sharing this event through her website. Make it a habit to stop by there if you haven't bookmarked her yet!

50 Shades of... Catching Up!

SL Blogger Challenges are something I've noticed the general community respond to positively as of late.  I just happened to come across "50 Shades of Sexy" on a Google search one day and scrolled a few lines when up popped the name of long time friend, Tigist Sapphire of Ticklemetummy. Gave her a quick ping in world to find out more about the challenge, which should be a treat for Lingerie Exhibitionists :P Scroll after the image to grab the link back to Shiloh Serene's Official 50 Shades of Sexy Prompt List...
I was a bit late getting started, so here is my ADHD entree of Week 1's Word Prompt(s): Cotton Candy.

She's a Messy Barbie | Left to Right: iPop Barbie Heart T-Shirt by Rinka Watanabe | Hair I: Maitreya Lara II Ash Blond, Hair II: LoQ Absolut for TDR Fusion 5 | Skin: Belleza's Teal Flash Skin by Shyla Diggs | Lingerie: Glam Affair's Intima by Aida Ewing | Thing in her mouth? a Chocolate Pocky Stick

Okay so maybe there's not much to the image really :/ a Cotton T-shirt, and a candied mouth piece..Cotton Candy. No? Didn't make the cut? Bummer.
All tongue and cheek aside, Blogger Challenges in general provide a creative avenue for folks (like me) to focus on relevant content. After all, dolling up our virtual barbies is great fun! But more so when we can think out of the box eh?

Midnight Collabor88 Rush and PSE Texture fun..

The whole fashion blogging world is quite foreign to me, but oh so fun even for a newcomer. Collabor88's February Round is underway and I happily joined the throngs for the Midnight Rush. It was well worth it to see Designers, Bloggers and Shopoholics alike make it through jello-esque lag to get first dibs on this month's offerings...

Closing out this post, I leave you with an Obscene Not For Profit Time Out (or end rather).

Climbing the SL Photography Curve has been a struggle for me if it were not for the SL Community at large, especially those who make Koinup.com their Social Photo Sharing home. Very supportive to new picture/edit taker-ers, and not to mention some of the greatest artistic talent I've seen on the grid. Do visit sometime, and be sure to drink in Second Life like you've never seen before!

Gridlines, viewers, and Valentine's...

So I think the pictures will speak for themselves. After reading and watching several  other tutorials about a well known SL Photographer-plague-OMG headache-issue, I decided to opt  for this option. Granted its an old bug, I am still glad that this option, worked out for the epic conundrum.

Skin: Belleza's Betty | Hair: LoQ Absolut | Tank: =Razorblade= | Shorts: <kalrau> Sports Shorts Womens | Jewelry: [MANDALA] Motsumame Ring | Mesh Barefeet: Gos Boutique

Skin: Belleza's Betty | Hair: Wasabi Pill Shiki | Eyes: Mayfly's Mesh Dusky Cerise w2 | Top: coldlogic Lauren in Cotton | Skirt: coldlogic hall in Cotton | Nails: Candy Nails #P027 Clear French | Jewelry: BoHo Friendship Bracelets (free giveaways); Necklace: Magic Nook Vintage Watch TDR Fusion | Mesh Barefeet Gos Boutique

None of the above images above were edited with the exception of cropping and additional text layers..(oh and all that pretty background stuff. You can see that with each increase in resolution, the accursed gridlines did not make their debut.
I don't want to take the time to go into the "why's" and "how come it didn't work for me's", but I will say that while TPV's have a great deal more to offer than what LL provides, this tiling issue at least on my end is no longer a problem when I use the Beta Viewer. So THANK YOU, LL for getting this fixed, well done and thank you to the lovely Strawberry Singh for getting the word out!
This resident has come back to the Source.
It's a slow climb up the SL Photography curve but I'm up for the challenge! And for those of you lurking behind the screen, if you're itching to try, remember, you are not alone :)

The Skin That Won

A few months ago, after starting this blog, I attempted to reevaluate my SL game-play. Why keep investing  my hard earned entertainment monies into a virtual 3-D chat platform, and not, lets say in, shoes? Two words... connections and Breedables.
I still think all the fashion blogs are pretty nifty, and handy in a pinch, and I still lurk around the more nitty gritty reads. And because blogs fulfill that part of the human psyche ergo our need to be heard and seen/read...figured I'd start with my avatar's baseline.
Updating an avatar for me, takes a bit of sleuthing. A quick Google search on "Vixen Skins Second Life". (keywords, genius) And this is where I take out the virtual bristle brush and start scrubbing my arm. Little did I know that the owner of Vixen Hair/Skins (Verikai Vargas), was embroiled in a DMCA case with another popular SL skin creator, Curio (Gala Phoenix).
Alas, on January the 2nd, the Hush/Curio Scandal-Drama-Case-Something That will Happen Again Issue, looks as if it has been settled. Glad for Gala Phoenix and her supporters, royally ticked off at Hush/Verikai for not taking care of this sooner. Curio's products were pulled off the grid much to the dismay of thousands of residents as Hush/Verikai continued to sell her content.
You can read more about this particular case here and here. Managed to leave comment on one of those blogs and got a 'duh idiot' reply, no where you can tell right away though, and you're welcome for the shout out. (Seriously, I love her blog). God, forbid, that I try to reevaluate my SL game-play again without it coming down to researching yet another DMCA eeshuu.
So yeah, Big Girl Skin!  Belleza's Betty-Sunkissed Version (holy crap thats a credit whaddayaknow!) looks very Asianesque imho, and therefore I gladly dole out my shoes, I mean lindens to nab my first ever Tricky Boucher product! *cue in the hoorahs and 'its about times'*

Many thanks for visiting today fellow lurker :)

Style?!

To put it plainly, I have none :-) Whatever sense of style I had adopted whilst hopping from one misadventure to the next, mainly consisted of painted on clothes, hand me downs, and mediocre fare. And just like you, I grew up and started investing in better content and quality products.
And so, fast forward a few years and we now have the glory of mesh, decent SL photography tutorials, and PS workarounds for Gimp Users. Google those keywords sleuths, and you're bound to pull up vasts resources of knowledge goodness.
So if this isn't another fashion blog, then what, pray tell am I doing? I'm just another proverbial novice, amateur blogger joining the ranks of those who have hopped on the SL Blogosphere in hopes that some where down the line, I can read back and answer that question.."What am I doing??"
